At Le Petit Ranch, we believe in the healing power of animals and are committed to providing a nurturing and supportive environment where individuals can interact with our animals in both therapeutic and activity-based settings. Join us in this journey of healing and joy, where animals become our partners in fostering growth, resilience, and happiness.
Animal-Assisted Therapy
Animal-Assisted Therapy (AAT) is a therapeutic intervention that incorporates animals, such as horses, dogs, cats, and even farm animals, into the treatment plan. It is designed to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of individuals with various health issues.
AAT is directed and/or delivered by a health/human service professional with specialized expertise and in a goal-oriented and structured manner. Therapeutic outcomes are documented, and the therapy is an integral part of the individual's treatment process.
AAT can be an effective therapy for patients undergoing cancer treatment, children with autism, veterans with PTSD, and many others in need of emotional support and companionship.
Animal-Assisted Activities
Animal-Assisted Activities (AAA), on the other hand, provide more casual and less structured interactions with animals, bringing comfort and enjoyment to individuals in a variety of settings.
AAA includes activities that enhance quality of life, such as visits to hospitals, schools, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers. These activities are typically "meet and greet" in nature and are delivered by trained professionals, volunteers, or handlers who facilitate the interaction between the animal and human participants.
The primary goal of AAA is to provide therapeutic and educational benefits through positive interactions with animals.
